Thirty years ago I was working as night manager for a very exclusive polynesian resort in Hawaii. This  resort  featured  thatched  roof  bungalows and total polynesian decor. The luaus were promoted as the most authentic in Hawaii but I was dismayed to see that in the midst of all this rustic elegance  the buffets were served in stainless steel chafing dishes. I had recently built an ocean cruising catamaran and still had a complete wood shop so I decided to design a more appropriate chafing cabinet. The result was the teak chafer we have been selling for over 30 years.

A few years ago the Travel channel produced a show featuring the ten best hotels in the United States.  Our teak chafers are not only the best value available but are also a green product. The teak we use is recycled
  or  from government certified teak plantations. There has been many complaints about illegal rainforest hardwoods being sold commercially and we decided years ago to use resources respectfully. These teak chafers use one third less fuel than regular chafing dishes which makes them not only desirable from an ecological standpoint  but also more economical. If used daily they will pay for themselves in less than 14 months
