Thirty years ago I was working as night manager for a very exclusive polynesian resort in Hawaii. This resort featured thatched roof bungalows and total polynesian decor. The luaus were promoted as the most authentic in Hawaii but I was dismayed to see that in the midst of all this rustic elegance the buffets were served in stainless steel chafing dishes. I had recently built an ocean cruising catamaran and still had a complete wood shop so I decided to design a more appropriate chafing cabinet. The result was the teak chafer we have been selling for over 30 years.

A few years ago the Travel channel produced a show featuring the ten best hotels in the United States. Nine of these ten hotels were using our teak chafers as are hundreds of the best hospitality outlets worldwide.
